I bought a 1981 Milwaukee Sportster in April of 1981. There were 800 available and 4 for promotion. They were the first 800 Harley Davidson's without the AMF label. Mine was #512. Got rid of mine in late '82 due to financial reasons. I miss that orange and black sweetheart. Sportster/Buell Year: 1981. 1981 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXEF 'MILWAUKEE SPECIAL EDITION' #116 of 1000 LIMITED EDITION TANKS This is one of the first and definitely the rarest OEM Harley Special Edition paint job! The Milwaukee Special Edition paint jobs were made to commemorate the buyback of Harley Davidson from AMF and only 1000 of these were made for the 1981 FXEF Milwaukee Special bikes.. of which only a few are still known to exist!!CONDITION: Please look at all of the supersized pictures and use the zoom feature to make your own final judgement, I have tried to highlight the item from all angles. Here is the condition as I see it: - Tank is in good solid shape for its age. - Steel body is in good shape with one small noteable ding on the Right side tank (middle of the tank in picture 8). Left tank also has 2 brass brazed repair areas (see photos 11 & 12) - The limited edition paint job is in fair condition but has definitely seen better days awith plenty of scuffs, scrapes and chips and a larger missing area on the bottom of the left tank. Please look carefully over pictures 1-10 and use the supersize and zoom options for details. - Inside of tanks still has the OEM factory coating and should only need light cleaning before running. As with any tank a quality fuel filter should alo be used. - No gas caps or petcock included. FITMENT: - This was OEM Harley issue for the 1981 FXEF Milwaukee Special Edition Big Twin (Shovelhead), but will fit any Big Twin style frame with bob tank mounts. - Please verify fitment on your end before purchase with your model year/frame, or that you are comfortable with custom fitting to your application. - I am more than happy to assist with measurements or additional pictures if needed.
