How To Read Dat File Format

In Notepad, File > Save As: RENAME.BAT. Open the location folder for the partially downloaded files you need to rename. Drag and drop the RENAME.BAT file into this folder. Right click on RENAME.BAT > Open; a DOS window will briefly appear as it scrolls through all the files in the folder as they are getting renamed. I am looking into making the import of utorrent's torrents far easier. I know that utorrent saves all the torrents' related data to the resume.dat file. After that create a blank files by opening notepad File>Save As and type in resume.dat.old, File>Save As and type in setting.dat.old, File>Save As resume.dat and File>Save As setting.dat Please stop the uTorrent service when you do this! Best Answer: resume.dat contains information regarding currently loaded torrent jobs. There is a backup of the resume.dat file in the application folder, but the backup would change to the (corrupted) resume.dat after 30 seconds of uTorrent being open.

I am having a problem with uTorrent but it seems to be caused by more generalized file corruption
(I use utorrent mainly downloading legal torrents for what ever its worth)
Anyway every 10 seconds I get this balloon popping up on my task bar:
utorrent: uTorrent.exe - Corrupt file
The file or directory Users<username>AppDataRoaminguTorrentresume.dat is corrupt
and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility
Normally I would think it is a uTorrent problem only except when if I go to that folder
and try to rename/delete that file I get:
An unexpected error is preventing this operation. Make a note of this error code,
which might be useful if you get additional help to resolv this problem:
Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable
